Happy EASTER Everyone!  I have a 3 part series of fun projects and ideas coming your way.  I hope you enjoy and try them yourself.

Our Easter Eggs turned out beautiful this year with the help of my best friend.  We used all organic products to make our own food coloring!  The kids loved it!!!

Here’s What You Will Need:

  • Organic Eggs or Cage Free Eggs
  • Containers for the Food Coloring
  • White Vinegar
  • Water
  • Beets for Magenta
  • Turmeric for Yellow
  • Black Tea for Brown
  • Red Cabbage for Purplish Blue
  • Blueberry for Light Blue Speckled
  • Needle (Used a soft rounded needle with the kids, nothing sharp)

What To Do:

Boil the food (Red cabbage, Beets, Black Tea) , or smash (Blueberries)  to make the color for the food coloring.   Once you have the containers filled with the colors, add 1 to 2 tablespoons of white vinegar with a little water. Then all you have to do is drop the egg in the home-made natural food coloring and have it sit for a few hours to get the best results, especially if you are using the brown organic eggs.  The longer they sit the prettier they come out!
